The simplest way to rebalance your body
Sometimes we look far away, trying to find solutions which are actually very close by. We all seek ways to feel better, look better and become healthier and more balanced.
I believe that big changes begin with small and simple steps.
And such is the following recommendation that I have for you today. Small and simple. The secret ingredient to rebalance and revitalize your body is… drums rolls please… WATER!
Disappointed?! Don’t be!
Follow these simple guidelines and you will quickly see and experience changes in your body and soul.
- First thing when you wake up in the morning – drink 2 glasses of water. This will regulate your digestion, and help eliminate waste and toxins.
- 30 minutes before sitting down for a meal – drink 1-2 glasses of water. This will make you eat less, and reduce your food cravings.
- Don’t eat and drink at the same time! Drinking while eating reduces the gall/ bile levels in our intestine, which weakens the effectiveness of our digestion, causing us to store more fat.
- Try to avoid sodas and sweet beverages as much as possible – they only make you gain weight (yes, even the diet and low calorie kinds. More on this on a different post), and stimulate your hunger.
- Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water every day. If you engage in heavy exercising you should drink more. Since coffee and caffeinated beverages actually dehydrate your body, if you drink coffee, reduce it from you water consumption. For example, if you drank 2 glasses of water and one cup of coffee – count it as if you only drank one glass of water. In other words – drink one extra glass of water for every cup of coffee you drink.
- Drinking a glass of water before taking a bath may reduce your risk for high blood pressure.
- Drink a glass of water before going to bed – it may reduce your risk for high blood pressure and heart attacks, as well leg muscle cramping at night.
- When are stressed, our body tends to dry up. Make sure you drink plenty of water during stressful periods, before major changes and important meetings or presentations; it will activate your parasympathetic system – your healing system.
- TIP: to help you remember to drink your water, you can place little reminder post-it notes in different places that you pass by throughout your day. In your bathroom where you brush your teeth, so you can remember to drink those first morning glasses; in the place where you prepare your meals; in your office. After a while your body will get used to the good feeling that comes from drinking water and the reminders will come from within!
Water is an essential ingredient for our health and body-mind balance.
Consume it in the right times of the day and it will improve your overall health and vitality.
If you love your family and friends – share these tip with them, they will thank you.
